How I Created
The Top 100 Greatest Guitarist List

By Rock,Blues Guitarist GW Williams - Of The Rock,Blues Guitar Blog

Hi my name is GW Williams, I am a Rock,Blues and Jazz Guitarist,I also play Classical Guitar as well.

On the Internet you can read a lot about me my music, concert dates and appearances........but if you want to know who I really am, just hang around a while.

Below you'll find my personal top 100 rock, blues guitar picks for the best all time rock, blues guitarist who have ever lived. Again these are my picks and not Rolling Stone Magazines picks .

Anyways - For any Top Guitarist to make my - Rock,Blues & Jazz Guitar Top 100 Greatest Guitar players list - They must be able to play, lead rock, blues or jazz guitar & rhythm guitar, they should be very skilled in chords and chord voicings also most guitarist should be able to finger pick or play classical guitar and understand music theory and be creative with new idea's and also write music......Guitar Skill is very important here, they must be the best that the guitar world has to offer. Otherwise, just being famous,or the most popular guitarist, just isn't enough to make this list. It's the Over All Skill on guitar that counts most.A Great lead guitarist, who knows very little about chords really looses out here.
And just because someone created a new style of rock or blues guitar (Like Hendrix did) or because some one is famous , really doesn't make them the best guitarist in my opinion.
Infact Stevie Ray Vaughan learn many of Jimi Hendrix moves on the the guitar neck, yet I feel Stevie Ray Vaughan improved on Jimi's guitar playing style and Stevie added many new twists to the guitar himself and made his rock, blues guitar style the best of all time. Stevie Ray Vaughan understood, music theory and even jazz theory,he was more skilled than just a rock guitarist or a blues guitarist. He was the best of all time.

Also I received several emails yesterday asking why I didn't put my own name on this top rock, blues guitar player list, ....well....I figured this is a list of who I personally like the best, and I didn't think to even count myself...so I didn't add my own name...
But.....here's a shamless plug for my music - Please check out my top song titles on my new CD - here's a few of the most popular songs I have - Electric Son Rise , Beyond The Clouds , On Easter Morning - ( which is a gospel song ) and, Have You Ever Been So Lonely, pulse many others on my CD and MP3's, All my songs have all been aired on radio, Some of my songs combined have had over 1.3 million downloads in the past couple months. If you get a chance download my CD on Amazon.com or Itunes it will help support this Free Blog.
Any ways - Below is my top 100 greatest guitar player list.

The BEST PROFESSIONAL GUITARS....

.....For Anyone Turning Pro

Below Is An AWESOME Guitar I Own The Ovation 1777 LX

My Ovation Legend 1777 LX pic - above is an AWESOME Professional Guitar !!

This guitar is rock, blues and jazz guitar Heaven, this great guitar plugged in onstage sounds warm, full, and shines like a guitar recorded on a digital record - I wouldn't use any other guitar. It's a Very Balanced Guitar, I compared it to the Martins and Taylor guitars and this beat them hands down. This has one of the fastest guitar necks, for playing rock guitar, jazz guitar or blues guitar. And the value of this great guitar keeps going up year after year. There is no better acoustic guitar I have played for acoustic Jazz , Rock and Blues Guitar. While playing the blues, the strings on this great guitar hold in tune very well, I do a lot bluesy songs with a lot of string bends and I am amazed that it doesn;t go out of tune much. When shopping around for a great acoustic guitar for blues and rock music,I searched for 2 months but , I could not find a Martin or Taylor guitar better than this guitar.

Now Let Me Tell You About The Best Guitars I Found -
If you looking buy a great acoustic guitar for rock and blues playing? But don't really know what to get? Then stay tuned as I tell you my Top 3 acoustic Guitar Picks to keep you rocking and playing the blues.

1.) The Ovation 1777 LX Legend Acoustic-Electric Guitar ( MSRP - List Price $2395.00 ) has a fast action neck almost like an electric guitar neck, great sound and perfectly balanced tone. This guitar is my Top Pick as the best guitar in the world to own because of playability and price,it just doesn't get any better than this folks. The electronics are second to none, hands down it sounds better than a Martin or Taylor guitars plugged in .And unplugged it also sounds better than the New Martins or Taylor guitars and This Ovation Guitar Is Priced nearly $800.00 lower in cost than the top Taylor or Martin guitars. One point I would like to make, Ovation sells the 1777 LX with D'Addario guitar strings. These strings make the guitar sound not as full. But once you put some Martin Light Gauge Bronze SP strings on this baby, look out......The neck is lighting fast, great for acoustic rock guitar, jazz guitar, and easy to bend strings to play the blues, this is the lightest acoustic guitar I have ever owned. You won't find better balance anywhere for the money.
Ovation Guitars where once considered the best guitars in the world, and they still are but most of the young kids today play the guitars thier guitar hero's play.
I do have to admit most people judge Ovation by the cheaper made Celebrity Guitars they make, but those are just shallow back guitars, no where in the class of this Ovation Deep Bowl Cutaway. The 1777 Is My number 1 Pick, for best Guitar all around.
Hope the young Kids learn this.
Also I own an Old Ovation Legned Deep Bowl 1717 Guitar I purchased in 1984, just so you folks know that guitar as mellowed with age, there is no better guitar than my old Ovation for sound, never heard an Old Martin sound better. Folks don't let people tell you Ovations don't get better with age, because they do.

2.)Martin DC-Aura Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar ( list price $3,650.00 )This guitar can do it all, the sound is a good as the best Ovations, but for the price the Ovation still wins, and Ovations neck is faster. Yet this guitar is built for greatness , It has awesome electronics, but I feel the plug in sound is a little modular or digital beyond the point of sounding as a true acoustic guitar. It has the sound of a Amp Cab Modeling syste like you'd find in some Guitar pedals today. These are studio guitar sounds that are built into the guitar, yet it is awesome. Many of you may enjoy this guitar more than the Ovation because of the Martin name, yet for the cost, I'd still go with the Ovation LX 1777.

3.) Taylor 810 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar ( list price $3148.00 )this is my 3rd Pick, Taylor makes great guitars, and this baby has great balance and sustain, excellent bass response, perfect tone,Spruce Top and India Rosewood back and sides. The only thing I don't care for is Taylor has no electroic system for this guitar and in truth Taylor guitars with electronics need to be improved on there control knobs, there's no way to really tell where your settings are.And they are on the top front of the guitars. But like I said this guitar comes without electronics.
All these guitars were designed by pure genius, it took more than a online computer science degree to build great guitar's like these. These guitars are a work of art !!

How To Use

Moveable Box Scale Patterns

If you want to play Professional Lead Guitar, You Must Know about these Box Scale Patterns - They Save Many Years Of Time

Why Not Become a Professional Now?

Knowlege Is The Key !!

Many top rock, blues guitar players use movable chord progressions and chord voicing with music theory to travel up and down the guitar neck. Just like those movable chords on the guitar neck, there are also what we call moveable guitar scale patterns.Another name is moveable Guitar Box Patterns. These patterns make great rock, blues and jazz guitar players into super, almost superhuman rock guitarist.

These scale patterns make it easier to see the neck of the guitar while playing rock, blues and jazz guitar leads. At first it may seem hard to learn these patterns because you must memorize them, but once you do then the fun begins to happen. Many great jazz, rock and blues guitar players, and studio musicians in the record industry, use these moveable patterns because it's fast to improvise with them.

Anyone playing lead guitar in rock, blues or jazz music has a tremedous upper hand if they know these lead scal patterns. To use these patterns correctly you need to know the common tones in scales and the key you're playing in. Common tones are the root - 3rd - 5th & 7th notes of most scales. To make it simple, these notes are your starting and stopping points when doing scale runs on the guitar.Yet so much more can be done, than to just use these for just scales runs. The more mature guitar player will learn to play these scales patterns inside and out, at the same time creating and inventing new hot licks.Great guitarist may spend years doing this. It's been said that these 5 scale patterns can become a life time study. And I don't know if anyone who has ever learn it all, and I am talking the best in the world here.
Please remember the best guitar players in the world always keep improving, and they always keep looking for something new , maybe a new approach to playing the guitar, or a new sound.A real mature guitarist, should be able to create & invent many new hot licks and run scales inbetween melodies and hot guitar licks. And the best guitarist take it to the next step and mixing chording and hot chord vocings in solo leads.

Below are 5 of my favorite moveable scale patterns which I use in Jazz, rock and my blues guitar playing, they are all major scale patterns with the half steps between these notes in the scales... 3-4 & 7-8 for Major scale Keys.....and 1/2 steps between 2-3 & 6-7 notes of the scale for minor the minor scal key.To find the related Major key to it's minor key....please read on.Example G A B C D E F# G is the scale pattern for the G major key....but by taking the same notes and altering or re-arranging the notes into a different order starting with the E note...we get and Em key..... such as E F# G A B C D E.......take a close look at the notes........they are all the same notes, just in a differnet order. The Key of Em is the related key to G major.......so the scale patterns work together perfectly. Now if you don't know how to find the relate minor key to a major, well it's easy....take the root note and count 6 notes from the root and you have the minor key.So if we take the Key of C major .......and count up 6 notes we get an Am or A minor Key.....Look at these notes and count from C..... C D E F G A.....as I said the 6th note from the root is the related minor key to a Major key.Now with these movable scale patterns, you simple can use each scale pattern for both, Major and minor keys....smiply adust your common tones of where you'll be starting and stopping on.

Each pattern below works for both major and minor scales. Many of you may already play 5 noted pentatonic box patterns and use them for rock, blues guitar leads, but these scale patterns below are far move advanced than the pentatonic boxes and will take much longer to learn. To use the scale patterns below correctly you should already be able to read music and understand a bit of guitar theory.Because you must know where the 1 st - 3rd - 5th and 7th of a scales and also understand how chords are built. And understand it will take take to get your cordination in using these scales.Once you learn these patterns you can link them all together to cover the full neck of the guitar for almost any key you play in.

Today most blues and rock guitarist use only tab guitar to learn to play, it's sad because they also need to learn music notation and guitar thoery to become super adanvanced as a great rock, blues guitar player.

It's my hope that the Rock,Blues Guitar Blog Online will help teach and inform, the younger rock, blues guitar lovers. So please keep checking for more lessons on Rock, blues guitar here on this Internet Blog site......below are the movable, rock, blues and jazz box patterns......

How To Create A Sweet Acoustic Guitar Sound

With The Right Balanced Guitar Strings

These Are A Few Sweet Tips & Secrets Of Professional rock, blues Guitarist,Not Told or Revealed To Everyday Guitar Players. If you follow the instructions below with an open mind you can get that old beat up guitar sounding like a professional guitar in no time.

The Best Guitar Strings for playing,Rock,Blues Guitar or even Jazz guitar really depends on the guitar body size, the shape of the guitar, and the style you play.
But for now, lets try to figure out the best set of guitar strings for your acoustic guitar.
In other words we are trying to make your acoustic guitar, sound very acoustical with perfect,Lows,Mids and High tones, that are very brilliant, warm and shimmer and are very well balance, such as the best Martin guitars you hear recorded on records.

Your average guitarist these days, will think only a great guitar such as a Martin,Taylor or Ovation with their top end high price guitars are the only way to go. That the sound of the guitar is all in the rich expensive guitar body.
But this isn't always the truth. If you place the wrong set of strings on a great guitar, it could sound as good as an average guitar with a great set of strings on it.
Most people never think of spending time to research and find the perfect set of guitar strings.
Not only do the guitar strings help make a guitar sound much better, the type and size of guitar pick also changes the sound. Personally I think a Dunlop gray .73 pick is the best all around acoustic pick for both rhythm and lead guitar. That pick is strong enough for leads, yet allows for a beautiful sweeping sound when strumming a guitar.
But lets get back to guitar strings here.

So what is the secret of finding a great set of guitar strings for your guitar....well you first must realize all guitars come in different shapes and sizes, even in the same brand names.
So if you owned lets say 2 Taylor guitars, they both could use 2 totally different sets of guitar strings, due to the shape and deepth of the guitar body.
Here's an example a cut-a -way guitar body versus a full guitar body, the fuller body has a much deeper sound and needs a different set of strings.

So how do we find these sets of guitar strings.....the answer is simple, real simple in fact.
First we must learn to listen, here's the listening trick I tell people......
Pretend that the guitar strings are a 6 band equalizer, or Eq unit like you'd use on a stereo system. You want the guitar to be totally balanced from the High strings, to the mids to the low strings, you don't want so much deep bass that you drown out your high end, but you don't want to loose your bass tone either, and you want the mid strings to shine also.
Most guitars have either too much high end or Bass or unbalanced Mid range, these are your cheaper guitars. The most expensive guitars are built with better balance of tone. This doesn't mean that the most expensive guitars are the loudest , but just the best balanced. Sometimes cheap guitars are really louder than great balanced guitars, because they project a lot of bass or mid tones but don't have great high end sound. These guitars are real boomy and cause a lot of feed back and never sound great.

But there is a way of changing things around even on a cheap guitar, by finding the most perfect set of strings, you can balance out the bad area's and even make a cheap guitar sound professional enough to record with and do a concert.
It will surprise you what a little research can do for you, sure you'll have to try out different sets of guitar strings, and if you do remember to change the strings every 10 days to get he best sound, some of you leave those strings on for months and can't figure out where you went wrong.
To be a professional guitarist you'll need to get your hands and fingers used to playing new strings, and you'll need a set of strings that stay in tune and don't pull and stretch a lot.
So what are the best strings that I have found for acoustic guitar.
Here are my 2 top choices , for deep full body guitars , I like" Martin Marquee " 80
__20 Light gauge phosphorus bronze strings. And for cut a way Guitars - I like "Martin SP" 80__20 Light gauge strings. I really have never found a better acoustic set of guitar strings than these.
I know for sure I'd stay away from Gibson acoustic strings because they don't stay in tune very well, and the tone is nowhere near the Martin strings, also Fender does have some good sounding strings, still not in the class of the Martins.

One trick I didn't mention is the fact that a few professional guitarist use strings sometimes from 2 or 3 different guitar sets, and the reason again is because of better balance and trying to create a tone from a guitar no one else really has. This is nothing new, but few guitarist even think to try this. I will say it cost a lot more to do this, but don't fool yourselfs, the pro's look for every advantage. Also remember this fact, there are many professional guitarist who play no better than some of you reading this, the only reason they sound better and get contract is because they are more creative in creating a better sounding guitar, by using sneaky little tricks and by having the best sound equipment they can afford.

Truthfully I think every guitarist, who has ever dreamed of turning pro, should become a dreamer, and search their hearts and see if they need to upgrade thier musical instruments and even start to save for that new guitar, and have a good solid plan and don't be upset if it takes you a few years to realize your dreams. I know ever guitar I owned I dreamed of owning, untill I saved the money up, and it was worth the wait.

But I will tell you this, even with the best guitars money can buy, you still need the best strings, now I am not saying the most expensive strings - just the best strings, I love Martin Marquee 80 - 20 Light Gauge strinsg and they only cost at Guitar Center about $7.00 dollars. Yet I think they sound and record better on a Full Body Guitar than any other strings ever made that cost twice as much. These Light Gauge strings made by Martin are .012 to .054, just thought I better tell you this.

Pg 2.) Rock, Blues Guitar Blog Online Report

The Rock , Blues Guitar Blog Online Welcome You To.........

Rock,Blues Guitar Blog - Special Online Report
My Guitar Secret to....
...Conquering Your Stage Fears - To Playing Professional Rock, Blues Guitar, infront of a huge Rock Concert Crowd !!

Every rock, blues guitar player dreams of going on tour, to stand before a huge crowd and play their hearts out.
But very few rock or blues guitar players, even have the confidence to get up before a room fill with 50 people let alone 20,000 screaming fans.
So how does a great rock, blues guitarist and singer perform, and what makes this greta guitarist tick?
And have you wondered how great rock, blues and jazz guitar players perform in concert year after year, with no fear.
These are question I will answer.
So please take notes.

When I was young I love to play rock, blues and jazz guitar,I even studied Classical guitar also. But I had a problem in school ....you see...I hated, to give oral reports in school. In other words I was to shy to do public speaking, so how was I ever to play my guitar and sing before a large crowd of people?
When I first started playing guitar a 13 years old, I knew even way back then, that I wanted the be well know as a guitarist, I studied everything, music notation, rock guitar tab, jazz scales for guitar, movable jazz and rock scale pattern boxes. I would work all summer doing odd jobs to raise money to buy rock guitar books and jazz guitar books,I listened to Chuck Berry on guitar, the Beach Boys, and finally started listening to George Benson play jazz guitar. This all before Stevie Ray Vaughan appeared on the rock, blues guitar scene. My frist taste of blues can after listening to George Benson playing jazz guitar. I then studied guitar in college and played in jazz bands, but my main love was still a rock, blues guitar sound, with great jazz leads mixed in, it was my own style, and I love it.

I was a young rock, blues guitarist , I really didn't care about the money, I loved the guitar and would play it for life even if I was the last person on the face of the earth, because it gave me great pleasure and joy.
But still in my heart, I knew I was scared to death to get up in front of a large crowd and sing and play my music.
As I grew into my music over the next few years, I ran Track in front of large crowds, but it really didn't teach me the confidence I needed, to play guitar in front of people.
Durning my college days I started playing in front of people, but I was nervous everytime I got up in front of a crowd.Sure I was a great guitar player, but I wanted to over come my fears.
It seemed impossible until one day, I learned a secret.

Before I learned my secret I use to think - Why get nervous? Why suffer the worry ? Why worry about things that could go wrong?..........ect....but you see I was telling myself not to worry and in doing so it was creating more stress

NOW MY SECRET - One day I woke up from a revealing dream I had and thought - I must refocused my thoughts - I told myself to go dead center in the very front of the stage, my reason was simple, there's no where to hide when you are there. At this point everything becomes totally clear to my reasoning. Either you play to your best, give it your all and never look back....or you're going to make a fool of yourself.
I decided to go for it, to take chances and risks on my guitar infront of a crowd, and play my heart out playing my hardest guitar styles ,that I would have noramlly reserved for my playing at home in hopes of one day playing before a large crowd, I think you rock, blues guitar folks all know what I mean - it's the guitar playing that you think you'll do down the road in a few years, but your not ready to play now because you don't want make a mistake. It's that kind of thinking that destroys guitarist,do you think a rock, blues guitarist like Stevie Ray Vaughan, would have been great had he done that?.....NO WAY !!....As Rock, Blues and Jazz guitar players ,playing professional, we need to trust our abilities. Why because, only the great guitar players ever risk it all,and if you do risk it all, you'll learn something awesome about yourself, that you can stand on stage with the best in the world if you have that kind of talent, you just have to become in tune with yourself and trust what God put in you.

And what if you crash and burn - don't worry about it, the crowd knows your a man who went for it. There will be another day soon, and you'll make it work. The real trick is this, once you master this, you can become a guitar super star !!

Yet I hope this all makes sense to you reading this - please understand me, there are many great guitar players living at home, but put them on a stage in front of a large crowd and they crack under pressure, then there's the guitar players who play real good under pressure as long as they don't risk it all. Then there's the 1 in a Million who learns to let go of the stress.

Anyways back to my story - after my dream, everything seem so clear to me.I knew what I had to do to play guitar at a higher level on stage.I had to become the master guitarist I was at home on stage. And never have a negitive thought.
But for me this was a defining moment....I was going to beat this monster and attack head on.....to play my guitar all out and to sing all out and I told my band what the plan was, I told them to hang on for dear life.
I was going to make it....or break it.....but my mind was made up.....all the way 1 hour concert at 100% full bore.... And it worked, I got so caught up in my music and was able to showcase my music at a much higher level.

Guess what happened , within a few short months I was on radio, I even had my own talk program on the air, I did concert after concert with no fear ever again.

That was many years ago I learned this, I have talked to a few other great guitar players and they all say the same thing, there comes a time, when you have to leave all your cares and worries far behind and you have to step on the stage, like you own it, like you are the master of guitar. And once you do, you finally learn to love it so much, that you never want to leave the stage. The stage then becomes home to you.....It is no longer stress but pure joy.

Today when I step on stage - I own that stage, and I feel as if the crowd is in my living room, they are my family and friends, even if I never met them before, I now can play guitar infront of 50,000 fans, or only 50 Fans, it doesn't matter. People ask me all the time how I play with no fear, how I joke with the audience and play to the crowd.
All I tell them is, I go the front of the stage, it is there I am my strongest, It is there I am one with my guitar, one with my fans and One with God.

Some how I know some of you , are wondering how to conquer this fear.
There is no better way that I know , than to tell you what I lived myself.
If it works for me....It can work for you.

Over the years My music has played on radio off and on for over 25 years. My new CD is starting to go places. My song Electric Son Rise , is played now and then on radio and has even been used several times as a theme song for radio programs and TV. Now another songs on my CD, such as, "Beyond the Clouds", is getting a lot of notice, and in the gospel world my song -." On Easter Morning", - has had tons of downloads and believe it or not, a top ringtone company sells it also. Not to mention all the online sales I get. I was shocked to hear that Churches want , ON Easter Morning to be used in Easter Plays and choirs across the country this year, it's amazing. Best of all a top music write wrote me an online leter he posted on his website, saying this - That - On Easter Morning is one of the greatest gospel songs ever written, but only he wish he could written a that song that beautifull himslef. It made me feel real good as a writer and a guitarist and singer.

Thanks GW Williams

Pg 3.)Number 1 Rock,Blues Pro Guitar Amp

Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue

The Best Professional Guitar Amp Ever !!

My most favorite amplifier, that I have ever owned, isn't the most expensive amp I've ever purchased, but man this Fender can deliver. And it's hands down the best amp I have ever played guitar on. I am a Jazz,Rock,Blues Guitarist ands this sweet amp can do it all.
Everything from Blues to hardrock it's piture perfect, and she never breaks down.

The amp I love so much is my , Fender Blues Deluxe amp, it is an reissued amplifier from the 1950's , but it has been customized in it's newer design to add reverb and channel switching, yet while maintain the original 1950's sound of the amp.
Since the 1950's no amp has been created better than this amp in my opinion.
It's a 40 Watt Tube amp, that plays cleaner than any amp you'll ever hear.
It's great for blues Guitar, Jazz and once the hard rock guitar guys hear this amazing guitar amp, they realize they can get a better sound using this amp, plus adding sound effects makes this the perfect dream for any rock, blues guitar lover.
In my opinion this is the best professional guitar amplifier I'd take on tour.
It does it all.
No guitar player show be without this amp, it also works beautiful on acoustic guitars, much better than those cheaper acoustic guitar amps.
It also has a gain control to get you the raunchy gritty hard blues sound like Eric Clapton gets on his guitars. Fender also has many another Tube Amps, one series which is called the Hot Rod.......yet Fender went and reissued this guitar amp , I guess they figured why stop building perfection? Fender also sells a few real nice solid state guitar amplifiers, but in my heart, I know No amp, not even a great Marshall amp can compete with this guitar amp.But don't get me wrong Marshall has a different tone in their amps and they have their place in Rock guitar history, yet I have played some very expensive Marshall amps, and still in my opinion, this Fender Delux Blues Reissue is the best bar none.

The Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue - is the amp of choice for me in studio,on the road and in practice. There is no better amp, and the MSRP is only $960.00.
Yet it can be purcahsed much lower at Guitar Center for only $699.00.

Below is what it comes loaded with and the amp specs

I have played many amps and I will not cut any other companies down on this post, but if you're looking for the best amp, a professional quality guitar amp, with the best sound this is it. And the price is not so how out of the ball park that you can't afford this. Trust me the online rankings on this amp is all 5 star. That's the highest I have also ever seen, I do own this amp, I play my,Gibson Les Paul guitar on this amp, I also play my 2 Ovation Legend acoustic guitars on this amp,and my Epiphone Emperor Jazz Guitar on this amp. This amp is the king on every style, just add the type of sound effects you want, it works awesome with guitar effect modeling processors such as the RP300 and RP350 all in one box studio pro amp sounds of the pro's from Digitech.

No matter what your taste on guitar is from electric to acoustic this really is the best amp I feel any pro would love to own.

Thanks GW Williams

Pg4.)The Future Of Rock,Blues Guitar

The Future Of Rock, Blues Guitar
I Say Rock On Blues Guitarist !!

Where are all the great upsoming rock, blues guitarist,if you check online for young rock, blues guitar players you'll not find many.Infact most rock, blues guitaristtoday are over 50 to 60 years old.Is rock and blues music a thing of the past. 20 years ago everyone guitarist wanted to play guitar like Stevie Ray Vaughan or Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix, there were tons of guitar books, with both music notataion and guitar tab. Young guitarist want to have the same old looking blues guitars use by Stevie Ray Vaughan. And today if it wasn't for Eric Claptons Cross Roads Concert ever 2 or 3 years, we would hear much from the great rock guitar and blues guitar players from the past. Sure there's a few good young guitarist coming up, but not tons of them like in years gone by.

So what has happened to the Rock, Blues Guitar World? Today the Rock,Blues Guitar Blog Online, will take a look at the future of rock guitar today.

Its almost funny,I wonder if the young guitarist care about, Rock,Blues and jazz guitar? - In fact today, it's becoming much more apparent or clear to me that, most of today's bands have at best only rhythm guitar players, who lack skills of even knowing simple chord progressions.
Just watch TV and see the new up coming bands, you won't hear much in the way of lead guitar or even simple chord voicings, let a lone any rock, jazz or blues guitar leads. Not only that the singing is getting almost mono toned - Like Dylan's music was.
Is this the future of music? Where have all the great rock, blues singers gone? Where have all the great rock, blues guitars gone? Is this the end of great music?

I for one hope not, I know there's great young rock.blues guitarist out there, and they are teenagers, I have spoken to them, but music today because of the Movie Industry is mainly, folk rock, or folk punk rock music, and it doesn't leave much room for the young rock, blues guitar players. In the old days they said Rock N Roll will never die. But Rock N Roll, the real and true Rock N Roll is only a novelty at best these days.

With Rock and Roll guitar is nearly all but gone & and now blues guitar you only hear once in a while, it's hard to believe both are becoming a lost art forms, jazz is still hanging in there also. Only because of the southern rooted blues clubs and jazz clubs does the music still live on.Also some of todays gospel music still showcase a bluesy deep southen style music, that people once loved.

Todays music, really belongs to a punk-rock folk culture. Most of these people could careless if they play great.
99.9% of these people are more interested in being famous than being able to play guitar or sing good.
20 Years ago, the voices you hear today, would have been laughed off stage.
Today it's hip to sing off key and lack any real music skills.

It's my feeling that people wake up, we only have the old timers playing , jazz, rock, blues guitar these days. Sure there's John Mayer playing his rock, blues and folk rock guitar styles, but there are very few real talented guitarist on the horizion.

This trend really was easy to spot it started truthfully about 25 years ago, when the computer age caught up with Keyboards, over the past 25 years, great piano playing started to vanish.
People wanted to become famous fast and using keyboards and computers and midi interface was the new way.
AS the computer age grew, our young people became less interested in doing music themselves, they just wanted stardom fast. If you don't believe me how hard is it the learn Rap Music?......doesn't take a college degree does it?
Please understand I am not mad at anyone.

I just want to know where tomorrows guitar hero's are coming from, or will everyone play fake guitars as in the game guitar hero, and become a false sense of a rock star.It seems money has gone to every ones heads, and everyone wants to be a star. But if you study the music and I mean really look at most of it closely you'll see the truth of what I speak. The truth is I have seen better written songs by 5th graders today. The reason most of the famous ypoung bands today get away with selling their music is because they fill their music with digital sound effects, but if you really listen there, not much in musicianship being played.

It's sad when you hear guitar players talking about being an advanced guitarist in rock or blues music today, and when they talk they say they have mastered the pentatonic scale and so now they are a pro, geeeeeeee whiz, most of us older guys went light years beyond pentatonic scales , learning jazz theory that we used in rock and blues guitar also.If the truth be know there are 1000's of scales and variations of them. The guitar is a life time learning tool that never stops from the time your born till the time you die, this is what Andres Segovia said at 94 years of age, before he passed away.

Yes there are still great guitarist, and great young rock, blues and jazz guitar players coming up through the ranks, but the numbers today are far less, and even todays best guitar players seem to lack the skills of yesterdays hero's.

It is becoming clear to me that somewhere in the near future those who can really play guitar as a top skill musician will again be in hi demand , because of the lack of people really wanting to learn at a high level.

The truth about today's music is it is very low keyed, limited in chord structure and melody, bands today don't seem to accept great musician who can over shadow them. And it's simple to see why, why would any singer or musician in a band want someone who can outplay them and take away their fame?

So America I know there's some great guitarist out there, and I am cheering for you to come out of the shadows. Build your own bands if you can't join a band to showcase your great guitar-man-ship. It's time for great guitarist to rise again, why should we wait every 2 years the hear the greats on the Eric Claptons Crossroad concert? Sure Eric does a great job, but there should be much more in the way of mainstream, rock, blues guitar, hard rock guitar, jazz guitar. Hey I love hearing people like Zack Wylds music. But not hearing the greats because of this punk-folk rock is starting to become old hat, there's not many more singers and guitarist who can let it all hang out. I don't know about you people but I want to hear the best.

Pg.5}Inventive Rock, Blues Guitar Playing

Inventive Rock,Blues Guitar Playing

How Inventive are you on rock & blues guitar ?
Many top rock, blues guitarist are very inventive people.
And if you search online you may even find clues to how real inventive and creative on guitar a truth rock, blues or even jazz guitar player can be.

Talking from my own point of view, I do write my own music, and I did study advanced Jazz Theory and Guitar Theory and Classical Guitar while in College. But years before college I was playing,my own style of rock, blues guitar. And I was very inventive as a rock, blues guitar artist. In fact I was 13 when my first rock song got published.
And I'll tell you this I was very creative as a rock, blues guitarist and a song writer. Every song I have written, has had their own original rock, blues or jazz lead guitar parts, I never copy other people. I take pride in my music and having my own style of playing which is a combination of Jazz,Blues and Rock Music. I like to fuse the 3 together,so I am not just a rock guitarist or a blues guitarist, or Jazz Guitarist, but a guitar players who can play all styles, even Classical.

But being real inventive as a Rock, Blues Guitarist, is to me, more than being able to do guitar improv work as on jazz guitar, or setting up and laying down fanncy rock, blues guitar tracks in a studio. But what I wanted was for my guitar to have the sound of a Rock, Blues,Jazz Guitarist In concert. I want people to know my guitar style and say , hey.... he has his own style of music, his own Rock,Blues Guitar art form. Sure if you do this you'll stand out in a crowd, but everyone will know your the real deal, a true rock, blue guitar artist, not a copy of a rock ,blues guitar hero as we see so many today online and on TV and radio.

Being Inventive is creating a new technique to playing lead guitar,or a new way of playing chords and leads together and many other idea's for that matter.
Stevie Ray Vaughan was a good example of someone trying to go farther on guitar than anyone before him had ever done.
Anyways being inventive is trying something new, that know one has ever done or played before on guitar. This is what makes Rock and Blues Guitar so great. Too see what other people come up with.

In my soul I will always search for new rock, blues guitar idea's. Being creative to me his part of the foundation of a great rock, blues guitar artist. Many people think that everything has already been done on guitar, but I am one rock, blues guitar player telling you, I have moves on the guitar no on else has seen ever. And as a Rock, Blues Guitarist if I can come up with new fresh ideas on guitar, so can others. And this makes guitar exciting and exciting for a crowd watching a rock, blues guitar concert.

So I was wondering just how Inventive are you people out there, are there any rock, blues guitarist out there who are inventive on guitar like me? I believe there's a lot of you out there.

If you want to hear something new and creative that I just recorded on electric rock, blues guitar, then when you get time check out my song - BEYOND THE CLOUDS, I did some pretty amazing moves on the guitar and so far no one has copied those moves. I challenge anyone to copy what I did....so am I bragging...no way....just trying to get your juices going, and help you get your own set of chops for playing music....... I love rock, blues guitar,I love jazz guitar and love to listen to other guitarist of all styles. So tell me about yourself if you're inventive and what you play on guitar.

Thanks GW Williams

Pg.7)How To Make a Professional CD Recording To Sell

The Rock Blues Guitar Blog Online

Presents

How To Make Professional Recordings Of Your Own

Hi and welcome

Hi I am Rock, Blues Guitarist GW Williams, and this part of the Rock,Blues Guitar Blog will be about how to set up a small professional quality studio to record rock, blues guitar along with singing and other Instrumnets , all in your own home .Just Think a small little Roc,.Blues Guitar Studio that you'll be able to record professional CD's in. Believe it or not a small little studio such as this can put you into the hunt of selling your CD's online and in stores anywhere in the world. And making tons of money online as people download your music 24/7 around the clock.Wouldn't you like to be know world wide as a rock, blues guitarist? Isn't this the dream of almost every rock, blues guitar player?

So are you rock, blues guitarist with me ? - Lets learn to build our own Rock,Blues Guitar - Home Studio, that you can record any instrument in ,everything from acoustic rock and blues guitars, to electric rock & Blues guitar. And also how to record vocals, and keyboards, digital drums and all while using a set of headphones. You can even do this in an apartment.

The Future is here - And with your music , you can help create a new rock, blues guitar future for years to come - Isn't Time You Rise Up In The Music Industry using your own equipment? Who knows, you may become a new rock, blues super star on guitar. I remember years ago even Bruce Springsteen release a rock song recorded on a 4 track recorder on a cassette tape. Today music equiment is much more advanced. Any rock, blues guitarist has a chance using the Internet to become well known starting out as an indie artist.

First off ,here at the Rock,Blues Guitar Blog Online, we understand you don't have the money for a multi-million dollar studio, but you want to make your dreams come true with a limited budget.
So how do you go about doing this?
Over the next year I will be teaching you about sound studio techniques to help you create the best CD possible at home.
I will be talking about equipment and giving my views on the subject at hand.

My first point I'd like to make is this, if you decide to go to a professional studio to do this work, and do it right, which means to make a pro CD each song truthfully must really be work out and that takes time to get the best results from recording engineers.
One song alone if done right, can take a several days to get it equalized right, to get it microphones in place right and use the right amount of effects and find the proper space for each instrument in the stereo field.
It's no simple task, which can cost you $300.00 an hour.
Infact most people don't realize the huge budget an album costs when a new act is signed on contract by a studio. An average CD can cost $165,000.00 or more and take a full year to produce. We all want that rock, bluesy sound on our CD's,but will the studio give a hoot about your rock, blues guitar playing? Or will they bury it under other instruments. Will your rock blues guitar ever get the chance to be heard right. So why do I say this, well listen to music today on most CD's the drums drown out the acoustic guitars, and in my opinion your rock, blues guitar playing needs to stand out. You need sound recording engineers with an ear for, rock, blues guitar, today most people are recording folk rock music and don't know much about recording lead guitar as they did years ago. But....owning your own rock, blues guitar studio, you can save money and work out the songs till your hearts delight.

So if we take all this into consideration that you need to record your rock, blues guitar and singing in a studio then truely, most of you are left out in left field, unless your the 1 person in 1 million who gets treated right, then your rock, blues guitar will grow and you'll become famous for playing guitar world wide. Yet for the rest of you, lets face facts, no one will ever hear your rock guitar or blues guitar music, unless you do something about it now.

But there is another way to do this, and that is to build your own small home - Rock, Blues Guitar Recording Studio - and in your own home or apartment.
I promise this should excite you, what you are about to learn over the next year.
I'll teach you the tricks the pro's use and that can be obtained in an in home studio.
And if everything works out right, you'll be selling your very own CD in no time flat.

Below You'll Find a Table Of Contents....Of Sound Equipment and how to use it.
